What would you like to tell us about your practice?

The Benson-Henry Institute for Mind Body Medicine is a non-profit scientific and educational organization dedicated to research, teaching, and clinical application of mind/body medicine and its integration into all areas of health.

What is good health?

At the Benson-Henry Institute, we believe that good health is much more than just the absence of illness - it's the presence of positive emotions, the ability to manage stressful situations, and being able to balance work and play. Good health is something that all people are entitled to, and we believe that people can aspire toward it.

What makes a person healthy?

The list could go on and on, but we will stick to five things: 1) positive attitude 2) strong social network 3) gentle humor & playfulness 4) regular physical activity 5) healthy balanced diet

What do you believe is the future for health and healthcare?

We see that more and more people are turning to meditation, mindfulness and other integrative health approaches. People are truly embracing the notion that they can have a meaningful impact on their health and well-being. Healthcare providers are beginning to recognize the value of these approaches as parts of providing comprehensive healthcare that is both high-quality and cost-effective.
